RUGGED DESIGN FOR LONG LIFE - ALL MODELS

A Heavy duty aircraft aluminum casing is far superior to 'off the shelf' steel boxes with doors that can leak, rust, and be subject to vandalism.
B Weatherstrip foam tape ensures regulated humidity levels and keeps condensation out of the interior of the housing and the inside of the Lexan™ cover.
C GE Lexan™ cover improves visibility of LEDs.
D Bashplate™ provides the ultimate in component protection against vandalism. At .375" thick, the aluminum Bashplate™ can withstand gunshots and diffuses any blunt force applied to the sign. It completely surrounds every LED with a beveled hole, which creates a reflective boost to the display. This further reduces power requirements.
E Circuit board with super intensity LEDs uses 21st Century surface mount technology. With no moving parts, this helps ensure a maintenance free system that will last for years. The LEDs have an expected life of up to 100,000 hours. (11+ years, if running 24 hours per day!)

 

Extreme vandalism deflected by Bashplate™


Even 40 caliber bullets fired from point blank range could not penetrate the Bashplate and do massive internal damage to the radar sign. The bullets cut through the Lexan™ polycarbonate cover like butter, but could not defeat the Bashplate. No other sign on the market has this type of protection!

StreetSmart™       …………. Intelligent Traffic Statistics Software

Use StreetSmart software to format and display the vehicle data collected from any of our sign models. Each TC-500 contains a mini-SD card that stores records on over 500,000 vehicles as they approach and pass the sign.


With the data conversion tool in StreetSmart, this sign information is loaded into Excel™ ready files, and populates the included templates with just a few mouse clicks. Graphs and tables for a week of vehicle data are available for your review. Standard reports include:

Number of vehicles detected per day, per hour, and per half hour.
Average vehicle speed per day, per hour, and per half hour.
Peak vehicle speeds per day, per hour, and per half hour.
50th and 85th percentile speeds per day.
Number of vehicles grouped by average MPH segments (21-25, 26-30, 31-35, etc…).
Number of vehicles grouped by peak MPH segments (5-20. 21-25, 26-30, etc…).
Graphs capable of comparing week to week changes.
Graphs capable of comparing day to day changes .

If you want to review the data with custom tables, graphs, or charts, the data is available for you to work with as desired.

StreetSmart™ benefits:

Can pinpoint specific speeding times during the day, providing law enforcement the best information about when to patrol.

SOLAR OPTIONS

The TC-500S model runs efficiently enough to require only a 40 watt solar panel for most of the United States geography. Even a week of total darkness would not keep the sign from operating 7 x 24 hours a day! Another benefit of the 40 watt panel is that it is small enough (25"x21") to be unobtrusive in a neighborhood setting.

A 54 watt or 65 watt option can add faster charging capability for locations in northern latitudes and for sites where speeding traffic volume is very high. (To determine the best solution for your needs, click on the solar chart link below.)

The Model TC-500S houses two 18 AMP deep cell, non-spillable long life batteries.

Our unique SmartCharge energy management software ensures an orderly shutdown of the TC-500 whenever battery power approaches 20% of the remaining charge. This ensures that battery life is extended as long as possible. Completely exhausting the battery power reserves will diminish the battery’s ability to recharge fully. The next day of even partial sun will bring the sign back to life.
