Motorists Reminded of the Human Cost of Speeding

Cop with kidsSpeeding is not just an American problem. Worldwide, speeding is a factor in nearly one-third of fatal crashes. Nonetheless, as we go about our busy lives, it is easy to forget that exceeding the speed limit by even 5 mph can turn a minor accident into a major one–especially for pedestrians.

To bring this issue to the forefront of motorists’ minds, the village of Truro in the UK allowed elementary students at Threemilestone Primary School to question drivers caught speeding. Two asked “What would you say to my parents if you had hit me?”

Drivers were reduced to tears as they realized the reality: slower speed limits in school zones lessen the chance of injury and even death to children. While we are passionate about our armored driver feedback signs here at Radarsign, we are even more passionate about school zone safety and the fact that our products are scientifically proven to help reduce driver speeds, thereby saving lives.
