Foley, Ala.-Based Vulcan Signs, a Division of Vulcan, Inc.,

Now Carries the World’s First Armored Driver Feedback Sign from Radarsign™

watermarkALPHARETTA, Ga., February 4, 2013—A distribution agreement between Radarsign™ and Vulcan, Inc. gives municipalities, transportation planners and traffic engineers in the Midwest, Plains and Southeast states improved access to driver speed signs from Radarsign™.

Radarsign, the manufacturer of the world’s first armored driver feedback sign, engineers traffic-calming solutions scientifically proven to reduce drivers’ speeds without impacting the environment, roads or driver comfort. Originally founded in 1977 as a sign manufacturer, Vulcan has grown into one of the nation’s premier digital printer and laser signage providers in the commercial market.

In evaluating radar speed signs to add to Vulcan Sign’s product offering, Vulcan’s leadership team was impressed with Radarsign’s rugged design and construction, especially when compared to other brands.

“Vulcan Signs is extremely excited to partner with Radarsign”, said Jim Stewart, Senior Vice-President
of Vulcan, Inc. “Interactive signing is the wave of the future in our industry, and we look forward to the
opportunity to better serve our customers by offering effective, well-manufactured products that can make our roadways and school zones safer.”

Independent studies and Radarsign research confirm that after years of use, driver feedback signs continue to be as effective as they were on the first day of installation.  An independent speed study conducted by the City of Bellevue [Wash.] Transportation Department found that at ten locations—where driver feedback signs had been installed for six or more years—the speed reduction effectiveness continued to increase over time: 60 percent of drivers reduced speed by 10 mph.

Vulcan has been in the traffic safety  business for almost 40 years,” said Charlie Robeson, Radarsign co-founder and managing partner.  “We are thrilled to help extend their product offering, particularly with efforts focused on school zone safety, with a distributor that is as well-established and well-respected as Vulcan.”
