Radarsign in the News: The Creswell Chronicle Reports

Lane County Sheriff’s Office Welcomes Two TC-400 Radar Speed Signs from Radarsign

MARIETTA, Ga., August 8, 2018—In Eugene, Oregon, the Lane County Sheriff’s office is celebrating the arrival of two new radar speed signs from Radarsign®, the manufacturer of the world’s first armored radar speed sign. The arrival of the new traffic calming solution was covered by The Creswell Chronicle on July 18, 2018.

The Chronicle article—“Hey! Slow Down!”—shares details on the county’s purchase of the new Radarsign-brand driver feedback signs and Radarsign’s StreetSmart software, which captures speed data from passing vehicles.

In the article, Sergeant Scott Denham of the Lane County Sheriff’s Office explained why the driver feedback signs from Radarsign were selected and how they work: “…the signs are very accurate and very bright. Each sign is able to collect data on motorists passing by the sign. The collected data can be put into graphs showing traffic speeds during specific days and times. Sgt. Denham said the sign will start picking up a signal with motorists traveling 15 miles per hour and as the speeds increase the sign will flash faster.”

Driver feedback signs from Radarsign® are scientifically proven to slow speeding drivers. Radar speed signs are effective due to a psychological concept known as a feedback loop. This concept acknowledges that when drivers are provided information about their actions in real time and given an opportunity to change their actions, they are likely to choose better behaviors.

Radarsign, the manufacturer of the world’s first armored driver feedback signs, has been named by GovCIO Outlook as one of the Top 10 Law Enforcement Solution Providers of 2018.
